Conversation Maps

I'd like to lay something like this on top of blogspace, using posts and comments as data. Just because. Unfortunately, I can't seem to actually see any of the demos, probably because it uses DejaNews as a datasource, and of course DN is no more, having been eaten by Google. Still.

    Without the demo, it's hard to tell what this would be like in blogspace.

    I'd like the ability to add a hypertext link - into a posting or a comment - that not only sends the person to the page, but adds the new connection to a map, which can then be tied to the subject of the original posting.

    Once you find anyone thread of the subject, you can then find the whole interconnected map.
